Ranking based on ERC funding

A ranking metric that is based on research excellence is the number of European Research Council (ERC) projects that each School or Department has attracted. ERC projects are single-PI grants at the amount of around 2M EUR per grant and are amongst Europe’s most prestigious and competitive.

Currently, the ECE School of TUC has two (2) ongoing ERC projects (the first one started in Dec. 2023 and the second one will start in Oct. 2024, both ones with a duration of five years). The ECE School of TUC is the only engineering school in Greece that will be running in parallel two active projects of the European Research Council.

The following graph compares all 416 Schools or Departments in Greece, according to the percentage of the number of their ongoing ERC projects divided by the number of their faculty members. The ECE School of TUC is ranked second in Greece in ERC funding.
