On Friday, July 29, 2022, the swearing-in ceremony of the first 15 graduates of the Inter-Institutional Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering took place in Heraklion, Crete, in a beautiful and festive atmosphere.
The international Inter-institutional Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering was co-founded in 2020 (Government Gazette 1122/t. B'/02.04.2020) by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, the Medical School, the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Materials Science of the University of Crete and the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH).
The MSc program in Biomedical Engineering is entirely conducted exclusively in the English language and is, depending on the choice of each candidate, at the level of 90 or 120 credits and of 15 or 24 months respectively. The program aspires to train AEI (Medical, Polytechnic and Faculty of Science) graduates in innovative life and health support technologies, providing strong employment guarantees in research, industry and nursing/diagnostic units.
The awarding of the Postgraduate Diplomas was carried out by the Dean of the Medical School of the University of Crete, Georgios Kochiadakis, and the Director of the Department of Medical Sciences and Professor of the Medical School of the Technical University of Crete, Konstantinos Balas.
