SIGLE NEWS - DO NOT DELETE DIAKRISEIS

A graduating student of Technical University of Crete was selected for the European team for the International Cybersecurity Challenge - ICC.

The graduating student from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Technical University of Crete, Odysseas Stavrou a member of the research team of Professor Sotirios Ioannidis, was chosen as a member of the European Cybersecurity Team to represent Europe at the International Cybersecurity Challenge - ICC. The competition will take place on October 28 in Santiago, Chile.

The ICC, which began in 2022 in Athens and later continued in San Diego, has seen the European team emerge victorious both times. The selection of participants for the team was made through a series of demanding bootcamps and competitions held from January to June, with contestants from many European countries.

Apart from Odysseas Stavrou, we also congratulate Nikolaos Mourousias, a student of University of Piraeus for being chosen for the European team. Notably, both Odysseas and Nikos are captains of their  national teams of Cyprus and Greece respectively for the European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC), which is taking place this week in Turin, Italy.

More information about the ICC competition and the European team can be found in the announcement of ENISA (European Agency for Cybersecurity).

Congratulations to the students for this outstanding achievement, and we wish them every success in their future endeavors!
